Mozart and Beethoven: Sonatas for violin and piano (I)

DESCRIPTION

The combination of violin and piano was one of the most prominent combinations during the classical period: some sonatas focused on the expressiveness of the violin, which was then added to the piano's precision. This recital features two of Mozart's sonatas (in which the composer himself originally played the piano part) along with a sublime work by Beethoven: his "Kreutzer" sonata. The latter is an extensive composition that progresses from a state of meditation to one of exuberance, which has fascinated historical figures, such as the author León Tolstoi.
