Mozart: the symphony and concerto genres

DESCRIPTION

The Linz symphony, composed the Austrian city of the same name, and the Piano Concerto No. 20 are good examples of the prodigious speed at which Mozart could produce musical works, as well as of his enormous skill for exploring an immense array of expressive moods. The Linz symphony is a lush and enlightening score that reveals some elements found in the great symphonies of the end of Mozart’s short life. The Piano Concerto is a disquieting and tempestuous work that surprised the audience of its time and filled composers to come with wonder, for they saw in it a foreshadowing of the musical spirit of the future.
