Regarded as one of the best Italian musical promoters, Giovanni Bietti is a composer, pianist and musicologist. He collaborates externally with the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia in Rome and was a teacher of composition at the Conservatoire "V. Bellini "of Catania and of Ethnomusicology in the" Carlo Bo "University of Urbino.
He regularly holds conferences and, in particular, conducts concerts-conferences, directly on the piano, in many of the most prestigious Italian institutions: Teatro alla Scala, MITO SettembreMusica Festival, Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, Teatro La Fenice of Venice, the Petruzzelli Theater of Bari, the Chamber Orchestra of Mantua, the Festivaletteratura of the same city, the Regio Theater of Parma, the Sferisterio of Macerata, the Theater of the Muse of Ancona, the Olympic Theater of Vicenza, the Mittelfest Of Cividale, the Sicilian Symphony Orchestra of Palermo, the Festival of Ravello.
He is the coordinator of the acclaimed "Lezioni di Musica" (Classes of Music), the great musical outreach initiative broadcast by the Rai-Radiotre radio station, as well as the homonymous live cycle that attracts thousands of people to the auditorium -Parco della Musica of Rome.
His compositions have been performed by such interpreters as the violinist Thomas Zehetmair and the Pianist Boris Berezovsky at the Edinburgh International Festival, the Konzerthaus in Berlin, the Kuhmo International Festival in Finland, the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia Of Rome, among others.
In 2012, his book "Ascoltare la Musica Classica: Sinfonia di Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven" was published for Edizioni Estemporanee in Rome. Giovanni Bietti has published the only essays ever published in Italian dedicated to the music of Witold Lutoslawski, composer to whom MITO dedicates two concerts in honor of its 200th anniversary.
