Biography
Italian harpist Monica Cattarossi is recognised as one of the foremost interpreters of her instrument, admired for the elegance of her artistry, her refined musical sensitivity and the breadth of her repertoire. Equally at home as a soloist, chamber musician and orchestral performer, she has developed an international career distinguished by artistic versatility and stylistic excellence.
After graduating with highest honours from the Conservatorio “Jacopo Tomadini” in Udine, Cattarossi pursued advanced studies with some of the world’s leading harpists, refining a musical language that combines technical brilliance with exceptional expressive depth. Her repertoire ranges from the Baroque and Classical traditions to twentieth-century and contemporary works, with a particular commitment to expanding the harp’s concert literature through new commissions and collaborations.
She has performed in some of Europe’s most prestigious concert halls and festivals, collaborating with distinguished orchestras, chamber ensembles and internationally renowned soloists. Her appearances have taken her throughout Europe, Asia and the Americas, where she is widely appreciated for the clarity of her sound, the elegance of her phrasing and the poetic quality of her interpretations.
A dedicated chamber musician, Cattarossi has developed longstanding artistic partnerships with leading instrumentalists and singers, exploring a broad spectrum of repertoire while championing lesser-known works for harp. Alongside her concert career, she is deeply committed to teaching, giving masterclasses and mentoring young harpists at leading conservatories and international music academies.
