THE SONG OF THE SEA

The 17th Cartagena Music Festival will take place from January 4th to 12th, 2025, with the theme ‘The Sea’s Song’. The programming will delve into the main elements and composers who, through their work, contributed to shaping the identity of Iberian Peninsula music in the 19th and early 20th centuries.

CONCERTS

The focal point of the program is the music of Spain and Portugal in the 19th and early 20th centuries. This edition will explore the music of important composers such as Isaac Albéniz, Enrique Granados, Joaquín Turina, Manuel de Falla, Joaquín Rodrigo, among others. These musicians drew inspiration from the traditions and scenic landscapes of regions like Andalusia, Catalonia, etc., and for the first time, it was proposed as a strongly characterized national production, carrying identity values.

EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

One of the main components of the Cartagena Music Festival is its academic and social programming, which will be carried out in parallel to the artistic activity with a diploma course, master classes, concerts-lectures, luthier workshops and many more activities.
