ACADEMIC PROGRAMS

The training component of the Cartagena Music Festival has always been a priority in the consolidation of the project. Parallel to the artistic program, the academic programs seek to train attendees in different aspects of music, both theoretically and practically.

Chamber Music Diploma

The Cartagena Music Festival, organized by the Salvi Foundation, the University Institution of Fine Arts and Sciences of Bolívar (Unibac) and the Conservatorio di Musica “Giovan Battista Martini” of Bologna (Italy) open again the call for a diploma in Chamber Music Performance with emphasis on strings, wind, piano accompaniment and singing.

Production Scholars Seminar

Production Scholars is a professional practice program that supports outstanding students and recent graduates (degrees from 2020 to 2023) in the areas of event production, audio production, sound engineering, and related areas.

International Luthiery seminar

The commitment to luthiery of the Salvi Foundation and the Cartagena Music Festival increased with the realization of the International Seminar of Luthery, in which teachers from the Antonio Stradivari Institute of Higher Education – International School of Violin Manufacture of Cremona participate.

Luthiery clinics and workshops

Expert Colombian luthiers set up free instrument maintenance and repair clinics for city residents and visitors. In addition, they teach young people and adults the basics of instrument maintenance and share knowledge about their craft with all interested parties.

Talks by Giovanni Bietti

Maestro Giovanni Bietti’s musical conferences have established themselves as one of the unmissable and most anticipated events of the Cartagena Music Festival. These talks, accompanied by Bietti’s piano performance, are an immersion in the theme of the Festival to understand it more deeply and clearly. A must-see!

Cartagena Symphony Orchestra

The Cartagena Symphony Orchestra is a social and artistic project that brings together young people from different neighborhoods of the city around a symphonic experience. This project, which was born 5 years ago, has been consolidated as a city project that works for 10 months a year where young people have access to instrumental and symphonic workshops, chamber music, luthiery, leadership, among other things.
