Biography
Gabriele Mirabassi: clarinet
Cristina Renzetti: vocals
Roberto Taufic: guitar
The trio formed in 2013, bringing together three acclaimed artists — Cristina Renzetti (vocals), Gabriele Mirabassi (clarinet), and Roberto Taufic (guitar) — united by a shared passion for Brazilian songwriting and its refined lyricism.
Their debut album, Correnteza (2016, Hemiolia Records), was recorded live and entirely in analog format at the Church of Santa Croce in Umbertide, and is dedicated to the timeless repertoire of Antonio Carlos Jobim.
In 2018, the trio released their second album, Agreste (S’Ard Music), an exploration of Brazil’s interior landscape and musical soul. Here, the worlds of Dori Caymmi and Milton Nascimento intersect with Italian melodies from the mountains of central Italy and Sardinia—lands of shepherds and wild nature—evoked through the music of Fabrizio De André.
In 2026, they will release a new album, Attenzione al tubarone! Il Brasile degli italiani (“Beware of the Shark! The Brazil of the Italians”), under Egea Music. The recording focuses on the historic and cultural ties between Italy and Brazil, featuring songs by great Italian-Brazilian artists past and present, translations between Italian and Portuguese repertoires, and traditional songs of Italian emigration.
The trio approaches this material with a chamber-music sensibility — emphasizing sound detail, textual clarity, and musical dialogue — while drawing on their shared jazz background to create performances rich in freedom, interaction, and emotional depth.
