Peterson-Berger is best known for three albums of romantic piano pieces entitled Frösöblomster I, II and III (The Flowers of Frösö), which include Vid Frösö kyrka (To Frösö Church) and Sommarsång (Summer Song). The collections, which were composed over a period of 18 years (1896-1914) and subsequently collected, have earned a reputation for representing an essentially "Swedish" essence in the nationalistic romantic vein of their time. The most famous of the pieces, Sommarsång (Summer Song), recalls the warmth, the calm, the harmonious and luminous evenings of late spring, when the sun in the north barely sets.
